Cloth and Gold - summer school

Embroidery workshops inspired by Treasures, an exhibition from the Embroiderers' Guild Museum Collections (11 August - 7 September).

Cloth and Gold is a special two-day summer school, inspired by embroideries in Treasures and featuring embroidery techniques from the Tudor and Stuart periods, including metal thread and counted thread embroidery. Jennifer Scott, Curator of the Queen's Pictures, will lecture on dress and symbolism at the court of Henry VIII.

plus Image of Kingship - lecture by Jennifer Scott, Assistant Curator (Paintings), The Royal Collection
and Two-day pass to Hampton Court Palace and Gardens

Organised by the Embroiderers' Guild, the workshops take place in the Clore Learning Centre at Hampton Court Palace, and the programme includes visits to the Embroiderers' Guild and the Treasures exhibition, as well as entry for all participants to Hampton Court Palace and gardens during the course.

The cost of the summer school is £200.
