The Embroiderers' Guild was delighted to work on Common Threads, the outreach concept and programme partnered by London Borough of Merton and the Embroiderers' Guild initiated in 2003.
The project promoted community cohesion and respect for difference, and introduced people to creative processes and modes of self-expression of which they have had no or little former experience. In this the project particularly supported Guild aims as an educational charity promoting embroidery, providing opportunities for people to learn how to embroider, and to learn through embroidery. The Embroiderers' Guild is therefore delighted to continue its support for the next phase of Common Threads with River and Cloth.
