Embroiderers' Guild Tours 2009 & 2010

Welcome to the Embroiderers' Guild Tours! Our travel programmes are researched, organised and accompanied by Lesley Robin who is well known to many Guild members and who is delighted to introduce several new destinations. Our tours are an opportunity to engage with craftsmen and masters of their craft directly at a grassroots level as well as to meet with highly skilled contemporary artisans in their homes and workshops, providing a very personal and in depth interaction.

It is a cross-cultural exchange where we go behind the scenes to discover the spirit of a country through the richness of embroidery, textiles, crafts and folk art, visiting self-help projects where we learn about their road to self-sufficiency in our changing world. We visit important places of special interest throughout, and choose, wherever possible, locations and places to stay that reflect the culture and let us learn about their traditional way of life.

Our guides in each country are highly knowledgeable and bring an intimate experience to our travels. These are more than just tours, they are journeys of discovery both creatively and on the personal level, finding that which we share in common. Come with the spirit of adventure!
