Urchfont Manor College - Threatened Closure

Many Guild members may have been to Urchfont Manor College in Devizes, a wonderful Adult Education College that runs on the same lines as Missenden Abbey. Several Guild members have taught there in the past and as a current student there I was shattered to hear that the Wiltshire County Council decided to close it. This decision was made without public consultation and it looks now as though there may be a reprieve. I'm hoping that anyone with any experience of a residential course either at Urchfont itself or other adult ed colleges will send an email to Wiltshire County Council as suggested below and support the purchase of Urchfont Manor by the Barklam family to ensure Adult Ed continues especially with the craft and art courses that are so unique there.
