Annual Members' Challenge 2011

or nué embroidery The Annual Members' Challenge in 2011 was to create an embroidery
inspired by a piece from the Guild's Museum Collections - an or nué
visitors' book by the late Margaret Nicholson.

The competition was open to all Members of the Embroiderers' Guild and

Awards were given as follows:

The Julia Caprara Award for the best use of colour
The Beryl Dean Award for the use of metal thread
The Valerie Campbell Harding Award for best innovation
The Constance Howard Award for the best use of hand embroidery
The Margaret Nicholson Award for the best in design
The Christine Risley Award for the best machine embroidery
