Annual Members' Competition 2008

Members were invited to enjoy using their favourite materials to design and stitch original embroidery inspired by the theme "Journeys". The entry could include mix media, machine embroidery and any techniques but hand stitch should predominate. The work was judged on the way in which hand stitching had been used to interpret the idea and to create the embroidery.

The award winning entries were displayed at the Guild's AGM, April 5 – 7 April at the University Arms Hotel, Cambridge.

All the entries plus close up details were featured in a PowerPoint presentation created by Emily Childs for the AGM.

Award Winners

In addition to the award winning entries above, the following entries were selected for and displayed at The STITCH AND CRAFT FAIR at Olympia, Thursday 27 - Sunday 30 March.

The Guild would like to thank Annette Collinge, and Jackie Rayer and her team of Kingston Branch Members, for setting up and stewarding this display.
