All three award winning entries were displayed at the Guild's AGM at the Grand Hotel, Torquay. We were delighted that Jan Charlesworth was able to accept the Guild's invitation to come to receive her prize, certificate and the President's Cup in person. The cups, engraved with the winner's names, are perpetual trophies; i.e. they are returned to the Guild for the next competition, not won outright.

This year altogether sixty-four entries came in from all over the country. Many of these were from Members who over the years have entered the competition before but other entries, inspired by Guild workshops and encouraged to join in by their Branch, were completed by Members joining in for the first time.

This year all the entries have all been photographed and presented in regions so that you can enjoy seeing the wealth of ideas expressed, and the rich qualities and variety of the hand embroidery achieved. Each piece was beautifully presented and carefully packed.

Congratulations to everyone who entered an embroidery and thank you for joining in.

The theme for next year is to be JOURNEYS and the deadline is 20 February 2008. Please encourage all your Guild Member friends to join in! Download the entry form here. [The form is in PDF format - you can get Adobe Reader free from the Adobe web site if you don't already have it]
